The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, called Jazz Fest, fills the Fair Grounds Race Course with music, food and craft vendors every spring. The festival says it welcomes about 400,000 visitors a year.
2027 dates
The festival’s own FAQ lists two Thursday-to-Sunday weekends: April 22 to 25 and April 29 to May 2, 2027, at the Fair Grounds Race Course, 1751 Gentilly Boulevard, about 10 minutes from the French Quarter. Gates open at 11 a.m., music runs until 7 p.m. and last admission is 6:30 p.m. The full lineup had not been announced when we checked.

Plan your trip
Pick your day first, then book your stay. Weekends fill fast, so reserve early. In the evenings, plan a dinner at a Black-owned New Orleans restaurant. The Duchess B&B is one stay we are working to feature. Nothing is confirmed until the host confirms rates in writing.
We have asked the festival about an official partner link. Nothing is confirmed yet.
