The Bayou Classic is the Thanksgiving-weekend football rivalry between Grambling State and Southern University, played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Alumni, bands and families travel in from across the country.
Dates
The official site lists the 2026 game for Saturday, November 28, 2026 at the Caesars Superdome. We could not find 2027 dates yet. Check mybayouclassic.com for updates.
Tickets and hotels
Buy game tickets only through official channels listed on the Bayou Classic site. The organizers also run an official hotel program, listed at mybayouclassic.com/test-hotels. Check it before booking, and book early because the weekend fills the city.
Plan your trip
Give yourself the full weekend. New Orleans has plenty of Black-owned dining and music beyond the game, and a group is easier to plan if you lock in rooms first.
We have reached out to the organizers about a partnership. Nothing is confirmed yet, and we will say so here when it is.
